Hello parents,
For the past two weeks I have been getting familiar with the students and figuring out what kind of activities they enjoy the most. All of the students are so bright and intelligent, many of the students that have continued in intermediate Spanish are able to understand and translate phrases in Spanish when I give them instructions. For the first week I had them tell me about their favorite color or animal by writing and drawing on their white boards. For the second week of class we played a guess game called "Adivina, Adivinor" which is how students learned how to say English words in Spanish. They were also able to design their own paper bags to put their tickets in for the end of the month raffle. We did a lot of writing on white boards but starting next week they will be writing in journals so that they can keep a record of their writing and see much they have learned at the end of the year.
I did not take pictures these past weeks but there's going to be plenty for the next blog!
Thank you for reading,
Maestra Jessica.

Intermediate Spanish Class - Pioneer
Hola padres,
These past 2 weeks we have covered a lot: from greetings to ABC’s, to numbers, and other review topics (days of the week, months of the year etc). We have also been keeping a journal where the students practice how to write the date: in past, present and future tense. Later in the year, we will be increasing our time writing and we will be formulating different sentence structures as we learn/review new topics. Lastly, I wanted to share that yesterday we had fruit (strawberries and blueberries) to celebrate past birthdays. We will be doing this at the end of every month!
Here are some phrases and pictures of what we have covered in class, please ask your kids to share with you and practice with them:
