Korematsu Elementary Site - Intermediate Spanish Class

Hola a todos!! Hello Everyone!!😃

These couple of weeks students have been learning, reviewing, and applying a variety of themes!

We first learned about a list of jobs and professions in Spanish. Students created a poster (displayed below) in which they wrote and drew a symbol to represent what they want to be when they grow up. In Spanish they wrote, "Cuando yo crezca yo quiero ser...", which means, "When I grow up I want to be..."
Students also made origami fortune teller cootie catchers to play with the jobs and professions.

Students wrote two desired professions and another two professions they were not so thrilled about and played with their peers during class.
Students also learned the vocabulary for places in their community and decided to draw a map displaying their favorite local places! The map below shows places like their school, a soccer field, a cemetery, the University of California, Davis, and a whole lot of favorite restaurants and coffee shops!

Lastly, students in intermediate class are always encouraged to apply the extensive vocabulary they learn and review into sentences and conversations. Below are two pictures that show a snippet of students applying their vocabulary into complete sentences.

I hope you enjoyed reading a little bit about what has been going on for students in Intermediate Spanish class at Korematsu Elementary! You can always email me with any questions or suggestions at abmarquez@ucdavis.edu!
Thank you!
