Hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving break! I’m so thankful that the rain washed away the terrible smoke and clear the air.
After a long break, the students eased back into routine and played Apple to Apple game. Apparently they have never played Apple to Apple game before so they really liked it! It was to help strengthen their use of facial expressions with the green adjective cards and to teach them new signs from the red cards. We also used the red cards to practice constructing a proper ASL sentence, for example: Lobster, Apple pie, Skateboarding, etc.
“Lobster I eat”
“Apple pie my mom made”
“He skateboard fast!”
We also learned about Gallaudet University.
How many Deaf universities are there? 1. Gallaudet is the only one Deaf university.
Where is it? Washington D.C.
Can anyone go there? Yes… however, the environment is mainly signing so you would want to be fluent in ASL when you go there.
Do you want to go there someday? No (they want to go to UC Davis)
Enjoy the rain!
