In the past few weeks, the kids have been having a great time learning different rooms in the house and furniture that belongs in each room. As an activity, the children drew a picture of a house (una casa) some of them being inspired by their own homes and others creating very unique designs for the homes. Some of the words we learned were techo (roof), ventana (window), puerta (door), cocina (kitchen), sala (living room), comedor (dining room), baño (bathroom), y jardín (garden).
In their pictures they labeled the corresponding parts to the outside of the house.
This activity allowed them to be creative in the creation of the house as well as practice spelling words in Spanish and not only saying them verbally. The children had a fun time exploring words that correspond to certain words and they loved drawing their own house.
